There followed a few years on the 'dark side' as Chief Executive of an NHS Health Trust, during which I built a hospital. My Private Pilots Licence led to an interest in Aviation medicine, leading to a six month sabbatical in 1999, for the Diploma in Aviation Medicine. Secretary, since 2006, and Chairman, from April 2011, of the Association of Aviation Medicine Examiners and a member of the ESAM executive since 2008, I split my time between my thriving AME practice, the AAME, ESAM, and a bit of ornamental farming.
