Dear colleagues, friends, and members of the European Aerospace Medicine community,
The past year has been profoundly marked by the tragic passing of our esteemed ESAM President, Professor Jochen Hinkelbein. He will be deeply missed.
Nevertheless, our work must continue. In 2025, our Society once again demonstrated the vital importance of collaboration, scientific excellence, and a shared commitment to the health, safety, and performance of all those who fly and travel beyond our atmosphere.
At the beginning of 2026, I have the honor of extending my warmest wishes to all of you — aerospace physicians, aeromedical examiners, researchers, educators, and dedicated supporters of European aerospace medicine. I wish you and your loved ones excellent health, success, and fulfillment, both personally and professionally.
In the year ahead, let us continue to foster innovation, explore new horizons in aerospace medicine, and strengthen exchanges between clinical practice, research, education, and regulatory bodies. May 2026 be a year of growth, inspiration, and meaningful impact, during which we consolidate our achievements, support one another, and remain true to our mission: to protect and promote the health and well-being of the aerospace community in Europe and beyond.
The year 2026 promises to be pivotal. Following the two major successes in Paris in 2022 and Lisbon in 2024, we are delighted to host the 3rd International Congress of Aerospace Medicine in Istanbul in early October.
Thank you for your continued passion, dedication, and partnership. I look forward to what we will accomplish together in this exciting and dynamic field.
Warm regards,
Dr. Vincent Feuillie
President
European Society of Aerospace Medicine (ESAM)
